Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is perfect for people of all ages and backgrounds. Many of our patients elect to have oral sedation so that they can complete their entire smile makeover or reconstructive treatment at once. Studio B Smiles uses safe, comfortable oral sedatives to help you relax and sleep through your dental treatment. Oral sedation is one of the safest and simplest ways to enjoy your dental care experience. Most people never remember a single thing about their appointment. All of our doctors at Studio B Smiles are certified by the State in Oral Conscious Sedation.

Sleep Through Your Dental Appointment

IV Sedation

IV or Intravenous Sedation is administered through a drug directly into the vein. IV Sedation is the most preferred and predictable method of sedation where deep sedation is desired. A Profound state of relaxation and amnesia is achieved during IV Sedation.

IV Sedation Procedure

An extremely thin needle is inserted by our anesthesiologist into a vein close to the surface of the skin. IV drip consists of an anti-anxiety medication which puts the patient into a state of relaxation. Time will appear to pass very quickly and you will not recall much, or perhaps nothing at all, of what happens during your procedure.

A local anesthetic will also be administered in conjunction with this method of dental sedation. When you come for your initial consultation, the Doctor will review your medical history and will determine if IV sedation is the best sedation option for you.
